The Veterans Memorial 10th Anniversary in Pierre started with a parade that went from Fort Pierre through Pierre to the Veterans Memorial on the State Capital grounds. The ceremonies took place at noon. There were about 25 Chapter 1054 members in attendance.

Jack and Al were Flag carriers for Vets Day at State Fair on Thursday. I think we signed up 4 new members on Thursday. Do not know about the rest of the fair days for members.

Chapter 1054 Color Guard members participated in the 10th anniversary of the Veterans Memorial in Watertown on August 27, 2016. VVA Color Guard consisted of Dennis Solberg, Don Pasch, Ray Feist, Darwin Clyde and Jim Strom. Rodney Stormo and Gary Kuecker also participated in the ceremonies. (click on the numbers)

The organization Warriors Never Give Up sponsored another day of fishing for our chapter members on August 27, 2016. They fished on a private lake by Webster and they all caught their limit. Those who fished were Bob Apple, Lee Crooks, Bill Cunningham, Paul Day, John Goebel, Jim Hanson, Larry Hanson, Randy Holiday, Neal Larsen, Dale Ordorff and Austin Schiley. (click on numbers)

Every year, The Nation of Patriots organizes a national effort that pays tribte to, and honors, all of America’s Armed Forces-Past, Present and Fallen. The Patriot Tour ceremomy in Watertown was organized by VVA member Earl Cass. VVA Honor Guard members were Jerry Denman, Dennis Solberg, Clayton Ellingson, Fay Annett, Jim Hanson, Darwin Clyde and Rodney Stormo. Stephen Annett gave the commands with his grandson Leo Annett, standing by his side. This event took place on August 26, 2016. (Click on numbers)

On June 11th we held our annual Flag Day Fundraiser and we had 33 members who participated. Once again the event was a huge success. (click numbers)
