Many educational opportunities are available for adults.  Bible studies and small groups meet at various times throughout the year which allow for discussion and relationship building.

Women of the ELCA

Mission: To mobilize women to act boldly on their faith in Jesus Christ. Small groups, called circles, meet monthly in the morning, afternoon or evening. Prayer, Bible Study and service program planning are part of each meeting.

Five (5) groups meet monthly:

  • Martha Circle – Second Monday of the month at 2pm
  • Mary Circle – Second Tuesday of the month at 9:30am
  • Priscilla Circle – 2nd Wednesday of the month at 9:30am
  • Ruth Circle – 2nd Wednesday of the month at 9:30am
  • Sarah Circle – 2nd Thursday of the month at 7:30pm

The quilters will meet the 1st and 3rd Thursday and the 3rd Friday every month at 9am.  Knowing how to sew is not a necessity of being part of this group.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

Come together on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month to make these shawls.  Completed prayer shawls, infant blankets and quilts are blessed on the last week of each month during worship services.

  • Don’t know how to knit or crochet?  This is a great place to learn!!
  • Do you know of someone in need of a prayer shawl? Shawls are given to our own members and others in the community. Talk to Nancy or call the church office for more information.

Visitation Ministry (Pastor Kathy Hibbert)

Because Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer is such a warm and welcoming community of faith, being able to attend regular worship and participate in other activities is really missed by those people whose health or living situation prevents them from doing so.  The visitation ministry provides an ongoing connection with those people through regularly scheduled communion services at care centers and through home visits.  That ministry is done by a wide variety of people including pastors, Befrienders, youth and other caregivers – making Christ know in word and deed.
